The Storehouse:

The Storehouse walks alongside our guests and participants as they begin to provide for themselves and their families again.  We offer a robust food, clothing, and toiletries pantry along with discipleship opportunities that combine small group settings for women as well and one-on-one care for both men and women.  Other opportunities for growth together include our Education Classes, our summer Common Grounds garden, and our “Coffee-hour” gatherings.

We are committed to believing and sharing the Good News of Jesus (that God sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay for and redeem us while we are still sinners, offering us salvation and eternal life with Him as we recognize the Kingship of Jesus and our lives are changed from the inside out) with everyone who walks through our doors. Our desire is that along with practical helps and resources, visitors will find welcoming friends and the answer to hope and a more peaceful life.

Our Mission is “Building a transformational community by growing in love with Christ and all people” and our Vision is “Every Person Matters”.  We can’t wait to get to know you!

Our Guiding Principles:

Living the Gospel // We believe that everyone is made in the image of God and has intrinsic value as His creation.  Because of this, we commit to boldly proclaiming and believing the Good News of the Gospel: God sent His Son, Jesus, to die for everyone – regardless of their past, socioeconomic status, life situation, and story.  We want to know the Gospel well and then apply it to our daily joys, challenges, and trials.

Building Relationships // We are committed to building intentional and real relationships; we see all of our visitors not as projects to be fixed, but people to love. Our hope is that we can lead our guests and participants toward restoration with God, others, selves, and all creation.

Meeting Needs // We view the Storehouse’s resources as our way to show grace through practical means. We desire to care for the whole person, so our different discipleship opportunities address spiritual, emotional, and physical needs.

Our Philosophy:

BELONG |  By our atmosphere and posture, we communicate that everyone is welcome and belongs here. We believe that because of Jesus, you are loved unconditionally – not the future, better version of you, but the you right now, just the way you are.

When you come to the Storehouse, you will notice that our environment is very relaxed and laid-back. We invite our staff and team members to bring their children to serve with them; our hope is that because of this, you will feel like you are walking into a family’s living room or kitchen.

BELIEVE | We believe that the only sufficient answer to our search for hope and meaning is Jesus. We will be fluent in the Good News of the Gospel and will lovingly share the extravagant love that our heavenly Father has for you!

BECOME | We believe because of the fall, we are all broken – our brokenness is just manifested in different ways. We are all striving to become more like Jesus, glorifying God through our work, relationships, and creation.

While our guests are learning how to grow toward healthy relationships with their children and families, we want them to know we are learning right along with them!

Malachi 3:10

“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”

Our Primary Scripture:

Isaiah 58:6-12

6-9 “This is the kind of fast day I’m after: to break the chains of injustice, get rid of exploitation in the workplace, free the oppressed, cancel debts. What I’m interested in seeing you do is: sharing your food with the hungry, inviting the homeless poor into your homes, putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad, being available to your own families. Do this and the lights will turn on, and your lives will turn around at once. Your righteousness will pave your way. The God of glory will secure your passage. Then when you pray, God will answer. You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’

9-12 If you get rid of unfair practices, quit blaming victims, quit gossiping about other people’s sins, If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight.

I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places— firm muscles, strong bones.
You’ll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.”
